You can crochet with any yarn for this project. You simply will need one ball for each color. Or you can use leftover or scrap yarns, but it should be in same weight.

I used 100% acrylic yarn for 2mm crochet hook. If you want to, you can use a bigger crochet hook and a compatible yarn. Your square and cat will get bigger.
